About the event
When speaking about the state of the real estate industry and its overall lack of diversity, access to capital remains the most significant hurdle for developers of color and female developers. Even today, most projects by these developers are self-funded or financed by borrowing at sky-high rates. This lack of capital has resulted in an inability to work on more profitable, large-scale projects or simply scale operations.
However, there has been a major shift in the industry recently where firms are actively working to better align their investments and operations to achieve more equitable outcomes. Likewise, new doors have opened to provide much-needed capital and opportunities to developers of color and female developers.
Please join ULI for a special event with industry stakeholders as they discuss the current state of the market, how to remove existing barriers, and ways to expand the access to capital for developers of color and female developers. The program will consist of two-panel sessions followed by more intimate roundtable sessions for attendees to take a deep-dive into particular topics. Attendees will have unprecedented access to industry leaders, gain invaluable peer-to-peer knowledge, and enjoy unlimited networking opportunities.
